For the legal consumption of music, Steve Jobs was the one who distinguished himself with the iTunes store in 2003. He offers titles and album at a fixed price.
In the space of two years, Steve Jobs, a great music enthusiast, had changed the way we listened to him with a device that allowed us to have "1,000 songs in his pocket" and also the way we bought him.
A few years later, it is the turn of the streaming platforms to come out. YouTube, created in 2005, allows consumers to listen to music for free and legally through advertisements. One years later, blogmusik.net, better known as Deezer, becomes a reference streaming platform.
Then Soundcloud, and finally Spotify in 2008. All of these platforms aim to meet everyone's expectations. For example, SoundCloud allows artists to collaborate with each other, while Spotify is designed to create recommendation algorithms.
So you've seen the different developments since the 20th century of streaming platforms. This is only evolving and will continue over the next few years with the updates of the platforms but also with the new innovations that will be added to this. Apple, Sony, Philipps, have all been involved in the evolution of this world of music and thanks to them the development of the ways of consuming music.
